Twenty straight answers

Window-cleaning questions, answered clearly.

The practical details Martin County homeowners ask before they count the glass, choose a service, or book a visit.

01

Quotes and what is included

How much does professional window cleaning cost in Martin County?

Complete the online window-count quiz and enter your contact information to see one complete total before you book. We do not publish per-window prices or show a running estimate during the quiz.

What is included with a Pro Exterior window cleaning?

The selected glass, standard screens, visible frames, and standard window tracks are included. Sliding-door tracks, high interior windows, and restoration work such as hard-water stain removal are evaluated separately.

Are screens extra?

No. Standard screen cleaning is included with every Pro Exterior window clean, so it does not need to be added as a separate line item.

Are window tracks extra?

Standard window tracks are included. Sliding-door tracks are larger and collect different debris, so they are inspected and quoted separately when needed.

Counting windows for an online quote

How do I count regular windows?

Count each complete framed window as one, then enter it under first floor, second floor, or third floor and higher. Use the extra-large category only when the window is close to twice the glass area of the regular example.

How do I count French windows?

Count the complete framed French window, not every decorative pane inside it. A window divided into twelve small panes is still one framed window in the quote quiz.

How do I count sliding-glass doors?

Count each moving or fixed glass panel separately. A panel up to 8 feet tall is regular; a panel taller than 8 feet is extra-large because it generally requires ladder access.

What counts as an extra-large window?

For single-hung, French, and other residential windows, use extra-large when the glass is close to twice the area of the regular example shown in the quiz. Sliding-glass panels are extra-large when they are taller than 8 feet.

Can I have only some of my windows cleaned?

Yes. Count only the windows you want serviced and mark the quote as a partial clean when the calculator checks the total.

03

Scheduling and service access

Do I need to be home for window cleaning?

Not for outside-only window cleaning. Pro Exterior texts before arrival, follows the access notes, closes gates after the work, and sends the invoice digitally; inside-and-out service requires interior access.

What is the difference between exterior-only and inside-and-out cleaning?

Exterior-only service removes the salt, pollen, rain residue, insects, and landscaping debris that collect on the outside glass. Inside-and-out service also cleans the interior panes where fingerprints and household film build up.

How should I prepare for a window-cleaning visit?

Share gate, parking, pet, and access notes before the appointment. For interior service, clear fragile items immediately beside the glass and make sure the crew can reach the selected windows safely.

04

Florida salt, minerals, and cloudy glass

How often should Florida windows be professionally cleaned?

Many protected Martin County homes do well with exterior cleaning every one to two months and interior cleaning quarterly. Oceanfront, Intracoastal, irrigated, or high-visibility glass may need a shorter interval.

Why do ocean-facing windows get hazy so quickly?

Wind carries microscopic salt droplets onto the glass, where they dry into a film that holds moisture and airborne grit. Regular exterior cleaning keeps that buildup from obscuring the view.

Can ordinary window cleaning remove sprinkler spots?

Fresh surface residue may release during a normal clean, but bonded calcium and mineral deposits often do not. Those cloudy arcs or white spots may need a separate window-buffing process after the glass is inspected.

What is the difference between hard-water stains and a failed window seal?

Hard-water stains sit on the accessible glass surface and often appear as white spots, cloudy arcs, or a rough mineral film. Fog or moisture trapped between insulated panes points to a failed seal, which usually requires a glass professional or replacement rather than cleaning.

Can Pro Exterior remove scratches from glass?

No. Pro Exterior buffs hard-water stains, irrigation spots, and mineral deposits, but does not grind or polish scratches out of windows.
